Brock: Well, now that we'll all settled... Let the match begin!
Ash: Pikachu! Use thunderbolt!
Pikachu: Pika-CHUUUUU! *unleashes a blast of thunder towards Eevee*

Whip: Nyah! Eevee-!
*Eevee's body tenses painfully as the lightning viscously passes through his body*
Eevee: V-vii...
Whip: Eevee, are you alright?
*Eevee hops up on the spot*
Whip: Alright! Eevee, go for a Quick Attack!
Eevee: Eev!
*Eevee flashes towards Pikachu head first*

Mana: *cupping her hands to project her voice* Hang in there Eevee! Go Whip! Do your best!

Dawn: Go Ash! Go Pikachu!
Buneary: Bun! Bun! Bun-bun-bun! *pumping its pom pom's*
Piplup: Pip! Pip! Pip-lup-lup! *waving a flag with Pikachu's face on it*

Ash: Pikachu! Meet Eevee head on with Volt Tackle!
Pikachu: Pikachu! Pika-pika-pika-pika-piiikaaa! *heads straight for Eevee*

Whip: Ack, no! Eevee, look out!
*Eevee, in accordance with the command, tries to skid and turn, but can't stop fast enough and is hit in the back. He goes spinning across the floor, static coursing around his body*
Whip: Ah! That's no good!
*Eevee struggles to get up, digging his paws into the ground*
Whip: Wait, that's it.... Eevee! Dig into the ground!
*Eevee starts quickly shovelling into the floor*

Ash: Pikachu, use quick attack! Run all over the place!
Pikachu: *winces for a moment from the Volt Tackle, but then begins dashing all over the place as well*

Whip: Eevee!
*Eevee tries its best to erupt under the sound of Pikachu's pattering*

Pikachu: *just narrowly evades it*
Ash: Go, Pikachu!
Pikachu: Pika-CHU! *still under quick attack, it tackles Eevee*

Eevee: Vii!
*Eevee rolls back twice before stopping on its side, struggling to get back on his feet*
Whip... Eevee, that's enough. Come back.
*Whip recalls Eevee, much to its apparent displeasure*
Whip: Hah...I lost....

*the trio walk up to Whip*
Ash: *holds his hand out, grinning* It was a great battle.
Dawn: You did pretty good, Whip. ^^
Brock: You and Eevee seem to share a really strong bond. With that kind of bond, you two will definitely go places.

Whip: Thanks, all of you.
*Whip begins shaking Ash's hand, but seemingly thinks twice of it, and instead gives him a low five*
Whip: Hey, don't think this is the end of it! This was just a... Fluke!
*Whip rubs his nose*
Whip: Once I get stronger, I'll have to rechallange you! Eevee and I won't give up yet!

Ash: If you say so!
Mana: *finally shows up and gives Whip a pat on his back* Not bad, Whip. You'll get even stronger soon enough. *looks at the other three and smiles shyly as she rubs the back of her head* Sorry about acting so weird earlier.
Dawn: No need to worry! It's fine.
Brock: *grins knowingly* We understand.
Mana: Still, let me try again. I'm Mana. You guys already know Whip. And Professor Rowan tasked us with give you guys that package I handed to Ash earlier.
Ash: Oh, then thanks for that!
Mana: ...Y-yeah, no problem. *tugs at Whip insistently* I-I think we have to go now. We're gonna head to Oreburgh City and challenge the gym leader there.
Brock: You guys are gonna face Roark then. I'd suggest you guys go with water or grass type pokemon.
Ash: He's kinda tough. I lost the first time I battled him.
Mana: I-Is that so? Well, thanks for the info, and, ah, BYE! *runs off again, leaving Whip in the dust*

*Whip looks on curiously after Mana*
Whip: Jeez, what's with her? I wanted to see what was in the package, but it can't be helped.
*Whip waves at the three*
Whip: Thanks for the tip, I'll see you all later!
*Whip chases after Mana's dust cloud, flashing the peace sign behind him*

[Near the Ferry]
Mana: *head against another tree trunk, and she's breathing in and out with a paper bag*

*Whip eventually catches up and immediately doubles over and supports himself on his own knees, his breathing being a very good signal of his physical fitness*
Whip: Mah-....Mah-...Mana....what.... what happened...back there?

Mana: *pauses in her hyperventilation and looks at Whip with a calm but perplexed expression* What are you talking about?

Mana: *blinks in shock at the events* O-Oh... *looks at the pokeball that flew back to her hand, and then at Whip again* ...Whoops. *briefly considers what to do, but then sends out Tsunami*
Tsunami: Pip?
Mana: *points to Whip* Bubble please. And lightly.
Tsunami: *salutes Mana* Pip! *turns to Whip and douses him in light bubbles*

*Whip regains mobility by means of falling into the ground face first*

Mana: *looks towards the nearby tall grass that's shaking a lot* ...?

*a miltank pops out in the grass*

Mana: Huh. A miltank. That's weird... (to Whip) Aren't they kind rare in these parts?

*Whip hops up to his feet*

*Whip swings his arm out to the side, his hair flying out dramatically*
Whip: Miltank... You will be mine!

Mana: Is Eevee still strong enough to fight?

Miltank: Mii... *continues to roam around in the grass*

Whip: Of course he is!
*Whip tosses his pokeball high into the air and releases Eevee, whom... Cripples to his side in exhaustion*
Whip:......I forgot to heal him.
*Whip's featureless face very quickly becomes anguished*
Whip: HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN TO HEAL MY ONLY POKEMON!?

Mana: *sweatdrops* That would be my fault. *pulls out an oran berry and feeds Eevee it*
