Oreburg City!

Mana: *snaps out of her reverie* A-Ah, yes, please, actually! Oh, but... *checks her pokeballs* I think I need to heal my pokemon first...

Carissa: Especially since you beat me using Mega Drain...

Roark: If you say so. Just meet me in the center stage of the Gym when you're ready!
*Roark waves Mana off as he walks away*

Mana: *lets out of a sigh relief and turns to Carissa* Thanks for helping me out there, Carissa. I really appreciate it.

*As Mana turns, Carissa is invading her personal space again, smiling*
Carissa: Don't mention it~! You should go get your Pokemon healed up!

Mana: *looks around the gym* Wasn't there a little healing area in here that I could use? Or is that for members only?

Carissa: Ah, well, that is usually for members only, but....
*Carissa looks left and right, searching for anybody whom seems to be paying attention. She finds no one*
Carissa: ...I can make a special exception~ C'mon!
*Carissa grabs Mana's hand without waiting for her permission and drags her along*

Mana: *lets herself be dragged along* Thanks~

Carissa: Don't mention it~
*Carissa stops at a room near the back and opens it, revealing a healing device*
Carissa: Alright, now to put these puppies in~
*Carissa is somehow holding Mana's pokeballs despite not asking for them*
Shinosuke: What are you doing?
*Carissa freaks out and tosses the pokeballs into the air, frantically catching them and balancing one on her head. Shinosuke stands next to her, looking unimpressed*
Carissa: .....Nooooothin'.....

Terra: *from the other side of the duo in a singsong voice* Well it certainly looks like some-thing~
Mana: *winces* Busted....

Carissa: I-I was just healing my P-Pokemon!
Shinosuke: All four of them?
Carissa: I-I- Don't judge! It's just this one time!
*Shinosuke smirks for the first time*
Shinosuke: Relax. We're not going to reprimand you.
Carissa: ...Eh?

Terra: *giggles* You could've just asked, silly~
Mana: *rubs her head bashfully* Sorry...
Terra: No need to apologize~! Just go right ahead and heal up your pokemon~

Carissa: YOU WERE JUST GONNA LET US DO IT, EVEN AFTER ALL THAT!?
Shinosuke: After all of what? You were the one whom overreacted.
*Carissa smiles, nervously giggling*
Carissa: Oh yeah~
*Carissa juggles the pokeballs into the machine and turns it on. The jingle plays, and the Pokemon within become completely restored*
Carissa: There you go Mana~ All healed up!

Mana: *nods and bows to everyone* Thank you for helping me with this and my Pokemon training~!
Terra: *waves her hand at Mana dismissively* Look at you, thanking someone who didn't even help you.
Mana: No, watching you battle Whip was good enough. *grins slyly at Terra* I bet if I had watched you make roadkill of him the first battle, I would've learned a lot more.
Terra: *laughs* Oh no~ *returns the sly grin* It was pretty much overkill. Not much to see there.
*the two continue grinning slyly at each other before bursting out laughing*
Mana: But seriously~ Thank you Carissa, Shinosuke, Terra. *nods to each of them* I'll be sure to get that badge, just you wait~!

*Carissa and Shinosuke both nod simutaneously, Carissa with much more enthusiasm*
Carissa: Show him a thing or two!
Shinosuke: Don't forget us when you're escalating to the Pokemon League.

Mana: *blinks in surprise, but smiles* Of course not~ *starts heading over to where Roark was* Thanks guys! You're the best!

*Carissa waves her hand as Mana walks away, Shinosuke just watches on. Meanwhile, Roark awaits on the far side of the largest stadium in the middle of the Gym, his arms crossed, but a welcoming smile on his face*
Roark: Welcome back! We've already met, but just for the sake of things, I am Roark! Gym leader of the Oreburgh Gym! I am but one of the proud trainers whom walk with rock Pokemon! As a leader,--
*He opens his arms, revealing a pokeball*
Roark: It is my duty to test the resolve of you and your Pokemon!

Mana: *pulls out a hair tie and begins to tie her hair* My name is Mana, a challenger who represents an area not known to you but will nonetheless make that area proud! *finishes tying her hair and lets it hang dolphin-style* And while I can't promise victory, Roark, I can promise you one thing~! *spins around and seems to have pulled out her pokeball sometime during that spin, so when she stops, her ponytail waves in the air for a moment as she makes a peace sign with pokeball in hand* A good and fair match! So let's start!

Roark: Words from my own mouth!
*Roark turns back and, will his full pull, throws his pokeball into the center of the field. Out of the pokeball comes a Geodude, very tough looking and banging its fist into its palm as it finds balance in it's float above the ground*

Mana: Alright Rose~! Yoooou're up! *sends out her trusty budew*
Rose: Budeeeew~! *seems fired up and ready to go*

Roark: Alright Geodude! Start this battle with a Rock Throw!
*Geodude lobs a few large stones at Rose, the rocks going at a ridiculously fast speed*

Mana: Rose, dodge!
Rose: *quickly makes its way around the stones, sometimes spinning in circles to dodge them*
Mana: Quick! Mega drain!
Rose: Budew! *as it dodges the last rock, it opens up its bud and begins drawing some energy from Geodude*

*Geodude has its energy sapped, though Roark doesn't tell it to move*
Roark: Geodude! Use Stealth Rock!
*The Geodude, still being sapped of energy, floats higher into the air, and then slams down, causing small, sharp stones to begin floating into the air. The Geodude eventually faints from the super effective move, and Roark calls it back*
Roark: Come back Geodude. You've worked well within the circumstances.
*He replaces the pokeball with another*
Roark: I choose you, ONIX!
*Roark releases the familiar rock snake, rumbling the ground as it lands*

:Viii~ Viii~!
*In the background, a little bit a ways from the stage, Eevee's voice cheers out to Mana, standing on top of Whip's head. Whip cups his hands over his mouth and cheers for Mana as well*
Whip: Go Mana! You can win this~!
Eevee: Viii~!

Mana: *had been shocked by the turn of events, but at Whip and Eevee's cheering, she regains her composure* You ready, Rose?
Rose: *does a little nod, obviously a little intimidated* B-Budew!
Mana: Let's go with stun spore, Rose!
Rose: Budeeew! *runs quickly on its tiny feet around the onix, releasing spores wherever it get it on it*

Roark: Onix! Halt that Budew with Rock Throw!
*Unlike Geodude, whom had the proper limbs with which to throws stones, Onix instead, either unaffected or plowing through the effects of the Stun Spore, slams into one of the larger rocks and sweeps the smaller chunks at Rose*

Rose: *gets pelted by the rocks and flies back* Budeeew! *hits a nearby rock and falls foward*
Mana: Ah! Rose, are you alright?
Rose: *quickly gets up and seems very irritated* Bu-DEEEEEEW!! *does a little angry stomp dance and charges at the onix again*
Mana: H-Hey, Rose-
Rose: *as she charges, some of her petals seems to sprout a little more and when she uses mega drain, it seems stronger than before*
Mana: *sweatdrops at Rose's recklessness* ...I didn't tell you to use growth or mega drain, but okay.
