The City of Luca~

Rikku: Hm?
*Rikku pauses and looks back at Mana, which was just as well, because only a few meters ahead of her, the lights seemingly spawned out [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], which destroys the main pillar in the center of the square, forcing the people in the area to immediately scream and flee in terror*
Rikku: EEP!
*Rikku hops back, startled quite a bit, but then gathers herself and prepares her claws. Wakka rushes next to her excitedly*
Wakka: Whoa whoa whoa! What's going on!?
Rikku: It looks like a fiend!
*The fiend roars at the remaining standers*

Mana: *pales and hides behind Rikku* I-It looks like a giant mutated sc-sc-scorpion!!

Wakka: Scorpian-?
*The fiend roars again, much louder than before, and noticed Mana and Rikku. It lunges the lower half's claw at them, only to be cut off by an enormous ball of fire knocking it off of its balance*
Rikku: L-Lulu!
*Rikku points, and atop a building in the distance, Lulu can indeed be seen, holding Vidina in her arm, the fiery spell still lingering slightly on her free hand*
Wakka: LU! GET OUT OF HERE!
*The monster seems disorientated, and Lulu shakes her head*
Wakka: LULU!
*Rikku snatches Wakka's arm*
Rikku: We gotta get out of here! Lulu's far enough away to run!
*Rikku looks at Mana*
Rikku: C'mon! You too!
*Rikku pulls at Wakka and starts running out of the square*

Mana: *stumbles to keep up and looks back at Lulu* W-Wait! Can we just leave her? She has a baby with her!

Rikku: She was far enough away! Fiends like that aren't really deadly from afar, so as long as she can get away-
*The Fiend bends its top head low, revealing its horrifically scaly back, which suddenly sprouts enormous, locust-resembling wings and takes a heavy flight. Wakka stops like a stone*
Wakka: No! LULU!
*Wakka reels back and throws his blitzball, but the fiend already manages to pick up acceleration, dodging his strike and making a head dash for Lulu. Wakka shouts out a number of swears, running after it in vain, when the fiend's wings suddenly explode in a gory fashion, forcing it to crash into the ground and wrecking a number of buildings in the process*
Rikku: Ah...!
*Lulu, covering her child protectively, looks up from her defensive posture just in time to disappear in a flash of blue. The flash intantly appears in front of the group, Lulu being held in the protective hands of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], whom lets her down gently, only for Wakka to run to her*
Wakka: Lu! Are you okay!?
Lulu: Yes, I think so. Vidina is safe as well.
*Lulu turns to the beast graciously*
Lulu: Thank you very much, Kimahri.
Rikku: Kimahri!
*Rikku runs up to hug him, but his facial expression repels her to a simple smile and wave*

Mana: *looks in awe at the damage the new arrival caused* Y-You... You took down that monster down by yourself!

*He silently shakes his head*
Kimahri: No. Not down.
Rikku: You mean it's still alive!?
*Kimahri nods his head, and just as such, the monster begins stirring, trashing many of the now-empty settlements*
Wakka: We gotta-
Rikku: Get out of here while we take care of it? Good idea Wakka!
Wakka: What? No, I gotta-
*Rikku hops up and thumps him on the head*
Wakka: Ow!
Rikku: Get out of here daddy! You "gotta" make sure Vidina is safe!
Wakka: But-
Lulu: She's right Wakka. We can't risk this fight with Vidina.
*Wakka looks solemnly at Rikku, Mana, and Kimahri, and nods his head once*
Wakka: A'right, but make sure to hit him once for me, ya!?
*Rikku bows*
Rikku: Yes sir!
*Wakka and Lulu start running away with Vidina, leaving the remaining three with the fiend, which begins to regain its posture. Kihmari swirls his spear once, getting into a fighting stance*
Rikku: Mana, If you want to run, you should. Me and Kimahri can handle this!

Mana: *shakes her head* No thanks! I'll help too! *flicks her hand, causing her wand to materialize as well as a card, the latter which floats into the air, ready to be summoned*

Rikku: Ooooh~ What's that?
*Rikku stares at the card, though the fiend rises completely and releases another rib-rattling roar. Kimahri wordlessly blazes into the air with his spear, landing on an armoured part of the fiend. It swats him from itself rather effortlessly this time around and tosses him fair distance away*
Rikku: Hey! You big meanie!
*Rikku reaches into her belt pocket and, from it, tosses a capsule at the fiend, which explodes into a big fiery blast. The blast seems to affect it a little bit, but mostly only serves to attract the attention to Rikku and Mana*
Rikku: Eep!

Mana: *spins her wand in her hand* Chilling flames engulf the entire world... Pitch-dark flower, set into bloom! *she hits the card with the edge, causing a white ball of light to emerge from the card, which quickly becomes a beast resembling a mix between a dragon and a rose* I summon you! Black Rose Dragon!
Black Rose Dragon: *lets out a loud screech as it takes to the skies, ready to respond to any move the fiend makes*
Mana: *spins her wand around in her hand with a determined expression on her face* Ready Rikku? *the edge of her wand glows with a pink light of energy*

Rikku: WOW! WHOA! WHAT!?
*Rikku stares in awe at the Black Rose Dragon*
Rikku: You can summon stuff!?
*The fiend, unimpressed with the summoning, indeed seems to be initiated by the summon and it's head launches a cannon-blast of foul-looking liquid at the Black Rose Dragon, having turned its attention towards the beast*

Mana: *smiles bashfully* I can do a lot of things, Rikku. Now let's go! *takes off into the air, flying towards the beast from behind while it's distracted by Black Rose Dragon*

Black Rose Dragon: *dodges the liquid with impressive speed and flies in towards it, unleashing a beam of energy from its mouth at the fiend*

*Rikku looks completely baffled by Mana's flight, but recovers fairly quickly*
Rikku: Hey! Don't hog all the spotlight!
*Rikku runs after the fiend as well*

*The fiend takes the beam of energy and screeches an ear-splitting wail, and then it lurches its whole body forward, and a brackish violet aura surrounds the Black Rose Dragon, increasing the pressure around it very quickly*

Black Rose Dragon: *starts wailing in pain and has trouble staying afloat*

Mana: *is now flying around behind the fiend, and although she seems to be in a bit of pain, she manifests spheres of energy which change their shape to resemble sharp looking kunai knives; she hooks her fingers through and sends it flying rapidly at the fiend and as the energy knives fly through the air, they seem to grow larger in size and make their way to pierce the fiend*

*The fiend becomes impaled by the energy knives, and its head loses its colour and turns grey. However, its body continues moving, armoured arms having absorbed the knives, and turns its attention to the flying feline. It's smaller arms begin itching together, and a spark of electricity begins to build its way around Mana*

Mana: *seems to cast a spell, but nothing seems to happen to her, and she quickly flies farther away from the fiend to see if she can avoid the electricity*

*The spell, as it turns, follows her as she flies away. In the nick of time, a capsule flies into Mana, smacking her along the head and exploding in a bright light. The spell strikes into a torrent of lightning, but it seems to course all around Mana in an invisible orb until it dies out. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] waves up at Mana*
Rikku: You alright!?

Mana: *rubs her head but smiles and nods at Rikku* Yeah! Thanks for the save, Rikku!

Black Rose Dragon: *now has a faint, white glow surrounding her, and she seems unaffected by the pressure and lets loose its vines at the monster, which both pierces and wraps around its appendages and seems to force it into an off-balanced position, leaving it open for attack as energy is seen being sucked out the fiend*

Mana: *flinches as if she's did get electrocuted* Ah! Rikku, now's our chance! My dragon's trying to immobilize the fiend while sucking out some its energy! Let's hit that monster hard and fast!

Rikku: You got it!
*Rikku tosses up her dressphere and shots at it with her gun. A bright light engulfs her, and seconds later, she reappears [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], heavy sword in hand*
Rikku: Rikku, master of the blade, creeps through the shadows, cutting down all who stand in her way!
*Contrary to her sophisticated words, Rikku lifts her katana from the ground and dashes headlong at the fiend, which struggles against the energy being sapped from it by the Black Rose Dragon. Because its armoured arms have long-since faded, it has nothing to do except frantically roar and wail*

Mana: *makes her way towards the fiend by running this time and causes little spheres of pink energy to manifest and surround the fiend and explode bit by bit next to it, inflicting decent amount of damage with each explosion*

*The fiend roars, and its struggles seem to get it nowhere. Rikku continues running, and readies her blade*
Rikku: ZANMA-
*Rikku freezes in place. The fiend freezes in place. Debris stays in its place.*

: Such power...

Mana: *stops forming her energy bombs and examines the situation with confusion* H-Huh...? *turns around to see the rest of the area in a similar state* ...Chaos Control, maybe...? But... *looks to the sky in search of any familiar faces* I don't think Dawg is here... So who would cast it...?

: A summoner....
*The voice comes from very closely behind Mana, the breath of it actually touching her*

Mana: *jerks back in surprise and looks around* Who's there?

*Mana is met with nothing in sight, barring a flash of blue just as she turned, and a few floating lights, almost sentient as they float by her*
: Do not worry, young summoner. All in due time. You will help me continue...this spiral of death.
*After the last word, things begin to move again as if it'd never halted. Rikku, however, seems to slash through nothingness, as the fiend evaporates into a shower of lights*
Rikku: Ah-?
